Shake Shack @ Jewel - Delicious Burger!

Having the reputation of serving one of the best burgers in the world has caused many Singaporeans to form snaking queues when Shake Shack made its first appearance at Jewel Changi. Shake Shack has its roots from a food cart at Madison Square in Manhattan, truly the dream of many F&B budding entrepreneurs.

Fun fact about burgers: The origins of hamburgers could be traced back to Hamburg, Germany. Hamburg cows were minced and made into gourmet patties.

The famous ShackBurger!

ShackBurger Double Patty
The Shake Shack experience

I really hate to queue so I waited for the snaking queues to abate and my queue was around 30 minutes. We first started waiting at a queue a distance away from the restaurant. When we could finally reach the queue to order our food, I was wondering if I could find a seat. I followed the cue of a family in front of us. At the counter, they split themselves up. The kids went to find seats while the parents ordered the food.

I love to watch Hype Hunt, a Youtube channel hosted by Jemma and Roz. They recommended viewers to order ShackBurger double patty. Initially I had my doubts. Will it be too much of an overkill? We ordered ShackBurger double patty cooked medium, a Shack-cago dog, crinkle cut fries, apple juice and root beer.

ShackBurger Double Patty S$12.70
The ShackBurger lived up to my expectations after queuing for 30 minutes. Any longer, I am not sure. I loved how the simple ingredients worked together to bring out the taste of the beef patty. The sauce was not overpowering at all, just nice. The most important ingredient in any burger is the beef patty. It was very soft, juicy and I enjoyed the lovely beefy taste. The buns were also worth a mention as they were really soft.

Looks overwhelming but tastes awesome

The Shack-cago Dog

Shack-cago dog S$6.50
The Shack-cago Dog comprises a beef hot dog topped with relish, onion, cucumber, pickle, tomato, sport pepper, celery salt and mustard. I know that some other food bloggers love the Shackcagodog but it is not my cup of tea. If you are a pickle lover, go for it!

Crinkle Cut Fries
The crinkle cut fries were unlike the crispy McDonald's fries. They were soft and I enjoyed it because of a particular aroma from the potatoes. Pretty addictive for a low carb lover!

What I also liked about Shack Shack was the availability of interesting drinks. I enjoyed both the Honest Pressed Apple Juice and Abita Root Beer. Abita Root Beer is made with a hot mix process using spring water, herbs, vanilla and yucca (which creates foam); it is also caffeine free.

Overall, it was a good experience despite the 30 minutes wait.
